I am qualified as a BASI Level 2 and CSIA Level 2 Ski Instructor.
I have worked as a ski instructor at Sheffield Ski Village (RIP!), 2 seasons as a ski host/rep in Les Gets and Tignes, and several seasons as a part-time freelance ski instructor in Italy (Interski, Halsbury Ski, Ski2).
I came to skiing relatively late in life, in my 30s, so I know what it’s like to learn how to ski from scratch (as opposed to those Europeans who were born on skis!). I think this helps me to understand how skiers learn and how they develop. If my class is struggling with something, I’ve most likely been there and struggled with the same thing myself.
Warning: on the thinker-doer-feeler-watcher spectrum, I’m very much a thinker, so my skiing and teaching tends to be focused on analyzing how skiing works and how best to develop it. You’ll find quite a technical slant to my posts.
